Shelly Spencer

Hello,

My name is Shelly Spencer and I am a graduate of Metro State College of Denver (now Metropolitan State University) and I have lived in Colorado the majority of my life. I am bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience having worked in Juvenile Justice for over 28 years. My work history also includes collaboration with the Division of Children, Youth and Families where I was involved in multi-system wrap around care and services for teens and families. I also specialized in, and was a trainer for juvenile female offenders. Throughout my 28 years in juvenile justice, I facilitated a multitude of cognitive behavioral therapy modalities. My favorite CBT modality was Moral Reconation Therapy. MRT encourages participants learning of moral reasoning, improve decision-making, and change antisocial or addictive behavior patterns. I believe in the success of families and that challenges help them grow individually and as a family unit. I look forward to walking beside our families and encourage positive growth and development.
