Heather Shea
Heather Shea is a Colorado Native who has a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Management and Leadership with a minor in Psychology and college credits in Early Childhood Education. With over thirty years in the Early Childhood Education profession, her experience includes Director, Assistant Director, Early Childhood Teacher, Early Childhood Education Specialist, Mentor, and Coach.
Heather received her Coaching Credential in 2021 and is trained in Practice Based Coaching, & Relationship Based Professional Development. Heather’s professional development and annual trainings include Reporting of Child Abuse and Neglect, Recognizing the Impact of Bias on Early Childhood Professionals, Infant Safe Sleep, Health and Sanitation, Shaken Baby and Abusive Head Trauma, Intergenerational Trauma, Early Trauma, Trauma Informed Care, Nonviolent Communication, Professional Communication, Active Supervision, Conscious Discipline, and her regular participation in Colorado Safe Schools Summits.
Her work experience includes collaboration with and abiding by the Office of Early Childhood Licensing Rules and Regulations, community partners including law enforcement, fire, and health departments. Heather has also worked closely with for collaboration and assessments with Denver Mental Health, and Denver Health for IFSP’s, IEP’s, supporting foster families, kinship care, and referrals for Social and Emotional Supports.
During Heather’s vast career and responsibilities, she has built relationships with a diverse community of families and the last nine years worked with Early Head Start and Head Start. Heather understands and advocates for the importance of inclusivity and equity to all families and children served.
One of her favorite volunteer experiences was working with high school youth in El Reno, Oklahoma that were impacted by tornado devastation, in New Orleans, Louisiana to help communities rebuild after Hurricane Katrina, and serving the homeless in San Diego, California.
Heather’s ultimate goal is to help children and families grow and thrive in relationships, community, self-worth and dignity.
