Dr. Andrew Harris
Dr. Andrew Harris is the owner and founder of the Colorado Mental Health Network, the only Black male-owned mental health clinic licensed by the Colorado Behavioral Health Administration. With over a decade of experience in the field, Dr. Harris has worked across diverse settings, including youth corrections, child welfare, community corrections, school systems, and various mental health agencies.
Dr. Harris has extensive experience supporting students within public school systems, offering culturally responsive consultation, psychoeducational assessment, parent coaching, and direct therapeutic services. His work focuses on improving behavioral, emotional, and academic outcomes through trauma-informed care and collaboration with educators, families, and support teams.
He utilizes evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to treat a wide range of individuals. His patient-centered approach, combined with clinical expertise, has helped countless clients achieve meaningful and sustainable progress toward their mental health goals.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Harris is a passionate advocate for underserved populations and is committed to reducing mental health stigma in historically marginalized communities. He actively seeks opportunities to educate, empower, and promote systemic change through professional leadership and grassroots engagement.
Dr. Harris is also a published author. His debut novel, Dr. Mind and the Biracial Misfit Part I, was released in 2021. His upcoming children’s book, Here Come the ‘Maybes’, is set for release in 2025. Through storytelling, he aims to reach young readers with affirming narratives that normalize mental health and celebrate identity.
A strong believer in the power of community collaboration, Dr. Harris leverages both clinical and educational networks to provide holistic, culturally competent care. His mission is to improve mental health outcomes across Colorado by making services more accessible, inclusive, and impactful.
Dr. Harris holds a Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) from the University of Colorado Denver. His dedication to clinical excellence, educational partnership, and advocacy continues to shape a more equitable mental health landscape.
